«ALS. Three letters that change people’s lives. FOREVER»
Let’s Work Together For ‘A Future Without ALS’!
Things don’t always go the way you plan!
To celebrate my twenty-five years living with an ALS diagnosis some friends and I decided to drive to Toronto and have two days of fun activities. We rented a large Airbnb loft downtown to start. Our activities included visiting ALS Canada head office (which we did and I took advantage of the CEO absence to own her office and put both my feet on her work desk), shop at the Eaton Center, visit the Hockey Hall of Fame, go to a Blue Jays game, go Indoor Skydiving and have dinner at 360 on top of CN Tower. Everything went well until I broke both of my arms Indoor Skydiving, not one, two! I don’t remember dinner very well at 360 because of the pain; however, I do recall the steak being delicious. You may read on my Indoor Skydiving adventure here. En français ici.
You can say: ”25 five years ago when I learned I had ALS both my arms hit the ground... To celebrate my 25 years of survival I have now broken both my arms” April 14, 1992 — April 14, 2017.
I can’t express the gratitude I have for the doctors, nurses, PCA, RT, Physio and all the staff at the Toronto Western Hospital 9th floor ”Orthopaedic floor”, everybody made sure my needs were met and I was healing properly… THANK YOU! My friends and family were at my side which made the healing easier.
